About Australian Miniatures

Australian Miniatures goats are a designer pet breed established in Australia in the early 2000's. The Australian Miniature breed has been bred down from small Australian Bush Goats and other general goat breeds by selective pairing of genetically small animals to achieve what we have today. Australian Miniatures have various characteristics that differ from one animal to the next. They come in all different coat types, ear types and colourful coat patterns giving them that 'designer' edge where a new owner can select the type of mini that they would like to welcome into their home.

Australian Miniatures are a height breed. This means that they are graded under a grading system within registered associations Australia wide. Grades can be affected by the height of the animal once it reaches 3 years of age. If they have grown too big for their grade once three, they drop down in the grades. However, they can go up in grades due to their parents if they are under height.

Our journey with Australian Miniatures started early in 2013 when we purchased our first two registered does from a local breeder. Since then our stud has grown to 3 standing stud bucks and around 12 breeding does with added kids kept each season to further improve our stock. Our stud has decided to only breed with pure Australian Miniature genetics that don't have any trace of the imported Pygmy or Nigerian Dwarf genetics in them. This is a personal choice and we couldn't be happier with what our breeding program is producing.
